Well, the donor family is still saying their goodbyes

before they turn off life support.

Jack is an excellent match for the donor heart,

and his latest echo indicates that his cardiomyopathy

and overall cardiac function has worsened,

so he should be at the top of the list.

I just want to run some additional tests

to make sure he's otherwise healthy.

There is a problem.

There is a small scratch, likely from his fingernails,

which has developed cellulitis and an abscess.

If the infection spreads and he spikes a fever,

Jack will be ineligible for the transplant.
