This popular, long-running show was initially about Oscar Crucke, the coach of amateur football team 'F.C. De Kampioenen', his family, the chairman and sponsor of the team Balthazar Boma as well as striker Pico, goalkeeper Xavier and their wives. The show is about how football unites these people and focuses on their daily lives. De Kampioenen pull together against car dealer Dimitri De Tremmerie - alias DDT - who is better off without the football.
