Les 188 premières lignes.
Here's TV's very own Mr. Magic, Jonathan Ross!
Thank you very much. Thank you so much.
Massive sense of excitement.
I'm excited, you're excited, they are terrified back there.
Hello, good evening everyone, and welcome to Penn and Teller: Fool Us,
where our hopeful performers go head to head
with two of the greatest magicians to be found outside of Hogwarts.
Tonight, like the existence of Mrs. Louis Walsh,
we aim to show you things you didn't think possible.
Explain that to the kids later, now...
Tonight our performers will try to win the chance to play Vegas
by fooling two legends who have been performing together for over 35 years.
That's incredible, isn't it? Thirty-five years.
That's got to have put a strain on any relationship.
Teller obviously ran out of things to say in 1982.
I like to think of them as Dastardly and Mutely,
here they are, it's Penn and Teller!
Teller, nice to see you. I think this part of the music is pretty good!
Very nice. Very nice. Okay.
We know you don't really want to be fooled, but part of you...
-you do want to be fooled, part of you... -We do, we absolutely do,
I mean you don't get into magic unless you love that feeling,
that's what brings you into it, so... it's... it's a lot of pressure,
but someone doing a really great trick,
we have no idea how it's done, that's magic.
So are you ready to be confounded and bamboozled and hopefully tricked
and made to look small and silly in front of everyone?
Yeah, we'll make it as hard as we can for them.
Okay, ladies and gentlemen, Penn and Teller,
take your seats gentlemen, Penn and Teller!
If you're sitting comfortably, you've got the best seats in the house,
you're all ready to go, let's get started, let's meet our first contender.
Daniel Kramer.
I'm Daniel Kramer, I'm 15 years old, and I'm a magician from North London.
I don't know where the magic desire comes from, where he gets it from,
he's loved doing magic for a... a long time.
I just love magic really.
I'm not really into magic really. But...
Um...
It keeps him out the way I guess.
I like to do a trick, and then every now and then,
I'll just break out into a joke.
-Dad. -Hello Daniel.
I get all of my gossip from my ketchup bottle.
-Yes? -It's a very reliable sauce.
I've been preparing for tonight by practicing very hard,
I've been testing it out on family members.
-Mum. Mum. -Yes, yes?
-Pick a card, any card, any card. -Well I am... I am a bit busy.
Just take one, take one, take one.
He loves Penn and Teller. He's got photos of them in his room.
He talks about them at the dinner table, it's kind of a bit annoying,
but I mean... You've gotta live with it.
He's really excited about it, and about the opportunity
to do something in front of, as he sees it,
the greatest magicians in the world.
They'll be blown away. They'll be speechless.
Even though one of them already is.
I don't think that age will act as a hindrance,
because they'll realize that I'm quite dedicated to my art.
And that I really, really want to try and fool them.
What a lovely and touching film there,
emphasizing what you can achieve with the love and support of your brother.
It was like watching a young Noel and Liam Gallagher, wasn't it?
Will you please welcome the fabulous Mr. Daniel Kramer!
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Now, now, for my first amazing illusion,
I'm going to turn myself into a 10-year-old boy.
Thank you very much!
I was watching the TV the other day, and I saw a magician do an amazing trick
where he did one, two, three, four, five, six cards.
He threw away one, two, three, and yet somehow
he still had one, two, three, four, five, six cards
Now when I first saw this,
I was as amazed as you were, and I too forgot to applaud.
No, no, please, no, no, don't, don't. Don't stop, come on! Right.
So I went down to my local shop, and I said to the man behind the counter,
have you got that amazing trick
where a magician takes one, two, three, four, five, six cards?
Throws away one, two, three,
and yet somehow he's still got one, two, three, four, five, six cards left?
He said, no, this is the butcher's.
You might want to go next door to the magic shop,
so I went next door to the magic shop, I said to the man behind the counter,
have you got that amazing trick
when a magician takes one, two, three, four, five, six cards,
he throws away one, two, three,
and yet somehow he still has one, two, three, four, five, six cards left?
He said, "Yes we do." I said, "I'll buy it please."
So I bought it. And I've got it with me right now.
I'm gonna perform it for you today. I'm so excited!
It's the amazing six card trick, here we go.
I take one, two, three, four, five, six cards.
I throw away one, two, three cards,
and yet somehow I still have one, two...
Hang on. Hang on.
One, two, three, four, five, six, that is amazing, thank you.
If you'd like to come back over.
Thank you, thank you, now...
This, right here, is a new invention of mine.
Last time I tried it out it didn't exactly go well,
but hopefully it will work tonight,
this is the amazing Twisteroo 3179.314279365123.
5.
As you can see, my arm goes all the way inside,
and if I open this you can see my arm is real, correct?
-Yes, yes, looks real. -Would you like to make sure it's real?
Yes.
That's... that's a joke. It's a... it's a joke.
Now what's going to happen is, Jonathan, is you're going to take
that portion of the... of the box.
Alright.
And you're going to start twisting it nice and slowly, in a sort of,
a clockwise circular motion, about three times,
or until I start screaming out in pain, telling you to stop, okay?
-So I'm gonna put my... arm in again. Okay.
So if you'd like to take that portion of the box and start twisting it.
Are you ready? On the count of three.
One, two, three, go.
Once.
Ahhh!
Twice.
Ahhh!
Three times a lady, there we go, I think that's enough.
Oh, that's... Oh dear, if you want to just hold that portion of the box,
you seem to have... this didn't happen last time,
but you've really hurt me! God!
I'm sorry, that's gotta hurt!
That's not meant to happen. Now, let's try and reverse the process.
Twist it round the other way if you like, here we go.
Ahhh!
Ahhh! Keep going.
Ahhh...Twice.
Ahhh!
And one more time! There we go.
And hopefully my arm is completely back to normal, there we go.
There we go, thank you very much! Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Daniel Kramer, ladies and gentlemen.
That was great. Well done, that was just fabulous. Daniel Kramer.
Great performance. Let's give Penn and Teller
a couple of minutes to talk.
Have you ever been to Vegas before?
I've, I've never been to Vegas, it'll be quite amazing if I did.
I would so love it if as a result of the show
we got to send a boy of your age to Vegas to fully enjoy it, because I think...
I think it would be one hell of an experience for you...
And you did it all fabulously, and the personality you have on stage,
and the warmth you give off, and the humor,
that's a huge selling thing,
I mean that's what people would love to see you doing, I'm sure.
You know, in a way...
in a way the magic isn't the best part of the act,
you're the best part of the act.
And I thought it was great, congratulations, it was really great fun.
Let's see if Penn and Teller have got a clue.
You just said something dead wrong.
You said the magic wasn't the best part of his act.
And I gotta tell you, some of the stuff in there,
the more you know the better it was.
The opening trick he did, I have seen Lance Burton, master magician,
star of his own Vegas show forever, I have seen him do that,
we have both seen him do that, and his ending was not as good.
Is that ending your own?
No. Okay.
And that's another great thing, he's honest, isn't that,
that's very rare in show business.
You sold that so completely, I was sure the ending of that was your own
'cause your acting was just beautiful on it.
I also wanted to say, about the... The hand thing you did,
what I love about that is you weren't finding some other child to torture,
but you did it to yourself.
So you were the star of the trick and the victim of the trick,
and I always love that.
And I also want to tell you something, Daniel, really,
from the bottom of the heart,
I want you to look right now at these two people sitting right here,
because that's the path you're on.
If you don't like what you see here.
I can't tell you.
I'm almost...
I'm almost a little teary eyed, 'cause we can show you pictures of Teller
doing shows when he was your age, and it's exactly the same.
And I was doing the same stuff when I was fifteen.
I just wasn't quite as good.
So you did not fool us,
but boy, you charmed us, and I'm telling you, you are us.
Thank you.
And that is, that is true. We all loved seeing you.
