How are you feeling about this show?
Let me--Let me tell you something.
First of all, welcome.
Uh, like you said, previous winners,
people we think deserve a second chance
to be basically the ultimate champion.
This is a little bit like a roller coaster right now.
I'm not sure where this is going to end up.
I'm gonna put an end to a little bit of the mystery,
because Mel B, you get the Golden Buzzer tonight.
- Yay! - What?
I got the first one. Come on.
What?
- Thank you. - Okay, look, look.
Let's get it going. We are all set.
Ten acts.
Two will move forward into the finals.
Let's do it.
It's "America's Got Talent: The Champions."
It's exciting.
Who's gonna be on? Who's gonna be on?
All right, take your seat, folks.
First act coming out.
- Mel B! - Yeah?
- We love you! - Why?
Bianca Ryan, how are you?
Oh, I'm doing good. I'm so star struck.
I am a big fan.
My name is Bianca Ryan and I was the first season
winner of "America's Got Talent."
- What are you gonna do for us? - Um, I'm going to be singing.
My first audition for "America's Got Talent"
was one of the first videos on YouTube to hit a million views.
I remember in the middle of the song,
I had opened my eyes from, like, hitting a high note,
and I seen Brandy on her feet.
That's when, like, I truly felt like,
"I think I did it."
The winner is Bianca Ryan.
After "America's Got Talent," my life was a total whirlwind.
I was touring.
I was doing, like, music videos.
And then after, like, a few years,
I had noticed my voice just, like, wasn't working with me.
I finally went to an ENT, and he was like,
"Basically one of your vocal chords is paralyzed.
"You're gonna need surgery.
"And there is a chance that you may never
be able to sing again."
It felt like the moment where, like, "Oh, my gosh,
this is all, like, crashing down on me."
I had to go to speech therapists to, like,
relearn how to, like, speak.
I'd started getting less fan mail.
You know, less comments. Less views.
I felt like I had just disappeared,
and everybody was just forgetting.
I have been working a lot the last year and a half
just to--to make this comeback.
I'm the first winner of "America's Got Talent."
I lived 12 years in shadows.
And I'm--I'm ready.
I'm ready to see the light again.
Bianca, just so you know, Bianca, how old were you?
Um, I was just 11 when I won.
Um, I think without you we may not have been
sitting here today, if I'm being honest with you.
Oh, my goodness.
Bianca, I'm genuinely thrilled that you're back.
Thank you. I worked hard.
Howie, what'd you think?
You know, I gotta say that I've, uh--
I wasn't on the first season, but I watched you,
and you were an adorable little girl with the most powerful
voice I've ever seen, and I was wondering,
you know, what happened to you.
And to have these barriers put up and then to have
the wherewithal to, you know, overcome that,
you truly are a champion in life.
Thank you so much.
I'm just--I'm so thankful.
That was just amazing. My gosh.
Thank you.
I mean, I always--I always say to singers on this show,
you know, you've got to take us on a journey.
You did beyond.
You delivered with the key change and the softness
and the light and the dark.
It was just magnificent.
- Thank you. - Well done.
Well, well, well done.
Thank you so much.
Oh.
Well, first of all, I wanna say I'm really happy
for you that you have your voice back, you know?
For yourself and of course for all of us to hear.
I guess it's kind of like for you like bike riding, right?
You hop right back on that bike and boom,
see what you can do again. Absolutely amazing.
- Thank you so much. - So, good for you.
I'm really happy for you. Thank you.
Bianca, that was what we call a moment.
Um, what was amazing is that you're shaking like a jelly.
Um--
Yeah, I haven't done this in so long.
I know, and that is what makes you so charming.
This is a show I've always, always wanted to make.
I am fascinated to see how America is gonna judge
the best of the world from these competitions.
There's 50 states gonna be voting for you tonight.
Let's see what happens.
But it was a great start for the show.
- Thank you. - So good.
She can sing, but she was really nervous.
Well, that's because she hasn't done it
in so many years. Think about it.
