It's a true story

A story of valor

Listen to the saga of Siddharth

Just like the rising sun

Radiant and glorious Only him, no one

When he bellows and sets off

The sky trembles in fear

He is a prince and brave!

His arrows can pierce through mountains!

He is peace personified An idol of compassion

Relentless stream of kindness!

He is a prince and brave!

His arrows can pierce through mountains!

The scion of Shakya clan

His brilliance

Shines through the world

It's a true story

A story of valor

Listen to the saga of Siddharth

Greetings, revered sage.

I have begged for food as per your orders.

Did you really beg?

It means

your pride will never obstruct

your quest for knowledge?

I don't know the reason.

I can see that your mind is loaded with questions.

You are right.

I'm sure, someday, I'd find answers to all the questions

-if I find the answer to one question. -What is that?

Have you accepted me as your disciple?

Do you trust me so much?

I don't believe in knowledge that comes from books.

I have read the Vedas and scriptures, but that's other people's wisdom.

It's not a self-revelation.

I didn't find answers after studying them.

So in my opinion, it's incomplete.

I want to feel the power that lies within us.

Only meditation can help me realize it.

Your blessings will take me to spirituality.

Your guidance will help me find answers.

Thoughtful.

Your curiosity will guide to greater good of humankind.

Eat first and then we shall talk.

Please try.

Ever since the prince left,

Kanthak hasn't eaten a morsel or taken a sip water.

He might die if he doesn't eat...

You better call the healer, Channa.

I have sent for him. He would be here any moment.

Even I don't feel like eating.

Mother says, I must eat to live.

Have something.

Please forgive me, my friend. I forgot to feed you.

It's time to meditate.

Yes, sire. I'll be there.

May I call this horse as Kanthak?

You have severed all ties with your past, haven't you?

Making new friends, are you?

I remembered my horse when I saw this horse.

Meditation is the only way to sever ties with past.

Kanthak.

Please have some water.

If you don't drink it,

the prince will be angry.

Have some water, Kanthak.

Please forgive me.

Kanthak won't live for long.

After all, he is a living being.

How long can anyone live without food and water?

Kanthak!

Kanthak!

Kanthak! Kanthak!

Kanthak! What happened to you?

Kanthak!

What will I say to the prince?

Despite being an animal, he recognized Siddhartha's love.

But we failed to recognize its value.

The horse couldn't bear separation from his master and died.

But...

I'm still alive.

I am still alive.

Please brace yourself.

Please forgive us, Your Majesty.

People of Kapilavastu want to make a request.

Please find the prince at the earliest.

Please find him!

Prince's abandonment made us more sad than the horrors of war.

Kapilavastu seems lifeless without his presence.

Every citizen is numb with grief.

We feel as if

piousness has left our kingdom!

I promise all of you

that I'd bring back the prince at the earliest.

Kapilavastu won't be condemned to oblivion for long.

Siddharth.

Revered sage!

Don't make life so hard

that it would seem a burden.

Last night, you stayed out and shivered in a freezing cold.

Why didn't you sleep in the hut meant for disciples?

How could I sleep well?

You haven't accepted me as your disciple yet.

Whenever I broach the subject,

you smile and avoid the subject.

A disciple chooses his own mentor.

A mentor only reads signals

whether a person interacting with him

deserves to be his disciple or not.

I have been watching you

ever since you came here.

I'm testing you.

You may take any test you want to. I'm ready for anything.

Please accept me as your disciple.

You're hungry for true knowledge.

I have never seen anyone so passionate about earning knowledge.

You have all those qualities

which a mentor looks for in his disciples.

You are simple and intelligent.

And...

And?

You're quite insistent on making your point.

-Does that mean... -Yes.

Om!

Om!

Om!

Sire, may I ask you something?

Go ahead.

I won't praise myself.

I have earned knowledge from so many revered sages.

I have memorized all four Vedas and Upanishads .

Yet, you took a month to accept me as your disciple.

You accepted Siddharth as your disciple in just two days.

True knowledge is akin to salt in oceans.

Salt has no separate existence.

If I add some sand

in the bowl of water.

What will you comment in terms of true knowledge?

It's quite simple.

The water will become clear as soon as the sand settles down.

We can drink this water.

My question was in terms of knowledge.

-Siddharth. -Yes?

-Can you explain this mystery? -Yes.

Sand represents lust, wrath, ego and greed.

When they go away, your conscience becomes clear as water.

Chandrapad, I think it was the answer to your question.

That's why I accepted Siddharth as a disciple in two days.

According to Sankhya School of Philosophy,

men and women are two sides of truth.

Men are consciousness

and women keep that consciousness alive.

When men and women

come together out of desire.

Just like two snakes entwine.

It gives birth to new life.

For example, all of us.

Trees, plants, animals and birds.

Bear one thing in mind.

Freedom from all desires is the way to salvation.

Sire,

what is Sankhya Yoga ? I'm curious about it.

I'm curious about both of them.

Sankhya Yoga and Sankhya School of Philosophy.

They only differ by words.

No, my dear.

There is a vast difference.

It's like a valley you can't cover.

Siddharth wants to know about Sankhya Yoga .

A feeling of salvation.

What you want to know about is Sankhya School of Philosophy.

It's all related to intelligence.

There is a difference between knowing the path

and walking the path.

Our desires is what create the world around us.

The seat of our thoughts.

Our thoughts give further rise to desires.

It's a never-ending game.

Sire,

how can we control our mind?

First, learn to control your breath.

When you study Sankhya Yoga ,

you must learn

to control your breaths.

We learn to breathe in through one nostril.

The process changes every hour.

When we breathe through our left nostril,

we call it the Ida Nadi or the Surya Nadi .

When we breathe in through the right nostril,

we call it the Pingala Nadi or the Chandra Nadi .

These tiny blood vessels

are situated on the either side of our spinal cord.

We have to balance them

and awaken our Sushumna .

I think your fever is subsiding.

You're being burdened with everyone's responsibility.

You take care of me,
