The first 200 lines.
¶ ¶
- Holy crap. Bear track.
Shack.
This bear is poking around camp.
Holy .
¶ ¶
Fish trap's stuck.
Damn it.
All right. I'm cutting it.
There she goes. Just piss-poor performance.
Well. I'll take beach fish.
This represents multiple days' worth of calories.
Thank you, lake, for the fish.
I really didn't want to leave this early.
Let's carry her.
- Feel like 37 days is no time at all.
I had so much more I wanted to build.
I had so many more animals that I wanted to hunt.
¶ ¶
narrator: In "Alone's" most terrifying location yet,
ten participants
face the deadliest predator in North America...
There he is, right there.
- Grizzly bears. - Hey, bear!
- We got a lot of grizzly here.
I'm gonna have to live with them.
Go on! Get!
- Every second we're on the land, we're being hunted.
Holy . Mountain lion.
- He's circling around my shelter.
narrator: Bone-chilling cold...
Winter's coming.
- You combine the wind with the rain and the cold,
this place could make the Arctic look easy.
Oh, .
narrator: And complete isolation.
- You cannot hide from yourself,
mentally and emotionally.
There's no place to go.
- I am suffering from loneliness.
narrator: Who will survive?
Yes! Yes!
This could be the end.
- I don't want to tap, but I don't want to die either.
- You have to suffer before you can succeed.
narrator: The last one standing wins.
- At what point do I push the button?
¶ ¶
It's stinking cold, man.
Not fun.
No fun at all.
¶ Oh why, oh why is it so damn cold? ¶
¶ The wind keeps at it again ¶
¶ And I try every day just to go another day ¶
¶ No matter how hard it gets ¶
The winds are heavy,
so it's just blowing in every gap, everywhere.
Holy cow.
¶ ¶
Never experienced anything this cold.
It's really hard to fall asleep.
Really hard to get warm.
¶ ¶
I gotta spend the day chinking all the cracks
from the inside with moss,
just to make it extra wind-proof.
¶ ¶
This place is hypothermia's paradise.
¶ ¶
We're gonna get our chink on. Start at the bottom.
¶ ¶
I can't even imagine how it gets
in, like, December or January.
¶ ¶
Anyone else tapping out right now?
I hope so.
¶ ¶
Take that, windy wall.
¶ ¶
Control of your mind is a big deal out here.
¶ ¶
I got to give thanks to my brother
for helping me train my mind
and control the negative thoughts when they come.
¶ ¶
I wish you were mushrooms I could eat.
¶ ¶
My brother wants me to do these visualization things.
Say it, believe it, do it.
¶ ¶
It's cold. It's hard out here.
But that's no reason for me to give up.
Gotta visualize the win, Biko.
It's the only outcome you see.
¶ ¶
It's time to get a fire going.
¶ ¶
Pretty excited about my freshly-chinked cabin.
¶ My cabin is gonna be warm and awesome ¶
¶ All the way through winter ¶
¶ ¶
- Today is my oldest brother, Shane's, birthday.
Happy birthday, Shane.
He always been a huge supporter of mine.
And he would love to be out here hunting.
I don't know how he'd do with the starving part.
Bet he's eating some good meals today.
¶ ¶
It's a beautiful, gorgeous, sunny, cold day.
¶ ¶
But I'm hungry.
¶ ¶
I've had three or four snows now
and I keep saying
the snow's gonna bring the animals down to me.
But I'm not seeing animal signs.
And so right now I'm gonna go fishing.
¶ ¶
What is that?
¶ ¶
What the hell?
¶ ¶
¶ ¶
¶ ¶
I have not eaten red meat this entire time.
This is an absolute freaking blessing.
¶ ¶
Typically, I would not eat an animal
with not knowing how it died.
But, like, this thing's hardly rigid.
It has not been dead long.
¶ ¶
That's not good.
¶ ¶
There is dinner, folks.
Breasts, legs are in there, neck, heart, liver.
Everything looked good.
I don't see any worms in the meat, just in the guts.
But I'm gonna boil the hell out of it.
Hopefully, it's not a disease.
¶ ¶
I'm not doing well.
¶ ¶
I need protein,
and I'm just trying to get to when we can use gill nets.
And that's my next big move.
I think it's fairly safe.
I don't think it was diseased. I think it was wormy.
¶ ¶
Fish have worms. Mushrooms have worms.
¶ ¶
This might be the only reason I get to day 45.
Willing to risk it.
¶ ¶
Mmm.
It is...
delicious. Oh, my God.
Your flesh will now become my flesh.
¶ ¶
Hoo-wee.
¶ ¶
Holy cow, it's cold.
Ugh.
That's a lot of fur for a zipper.
I never meant for this to have a zipper on the inside,
but that was what I had
when I had to finish this fairly quickly.
That's all right. We get there.
That is potentially the warmest thing
I have ever put on in my life.
All right. Let's go pick some rosehips.
Finally wearing my parka. Whoo!
¶ ¶
I've always wanted to make a parka.
And being on this show gave me the reason to do it.
¶ ¶
I haven't actually seen this on myself yet.
¶ ¶
Okay, so this is kind of
where a lot of the rosehips sort of start.
Oh.
My intake has been
a half a pound of roots and berries per day.
We got to move to the next patch.
That's 1,500 calories.
But that is not enough.
¶ ¶
My body is running out of reserves.
I have had two fish that I found on the beach.
That is the extent
of my animal protein intake out here.
¶ ¶
Gonna head back to camp.
¶ ¶
Without those high-calorie items
like fish, game,
this is just a slow descent into starvation.
And the wind is dying down.
¶ ¶
I think it has a lot of potential.
