The first 200 lines.
It doesn't matter if you're a Japanese samurai...
I was born to slay this beast! Power!
a Korean Special Forces operative...
I'm so proud that I served my country.
And I'll win this game.
...a U.S. Olympic gold swimmer...
You can't buckle to the pressure.
I 100% believe that I can win this competition.
...a Korean father...
I can set an example for my sons.
I want to do it in my father's name.
...or a student from Mexico.
That's right, exactly. I'm short...
but I'll be the champion.
For everyone, the goal is the same:
Power!
Conquer the Beast.
They'll do it for pride, country...
- Brazil! - Mexico!
- USA! - ...and for bragging rights...
Holds on with one hand!
...as they attempt to tackle the most physically demanding...
...and mentally challenging obstacle course in the world...
Careful, Muscle Samurai!
...to become the world's first Ultimate Beastmaster.
- She's going... -
That's like me in Vegas.
- Into the pool? - Into the pool. I'm done.
I am Charissa Thompson. This is Ultimate Beastmaster.
And I'm Terry Crews.
And tonight, 12 more competitors are gonna have to summon up
every ounce of courage they have
to enter the Beast's mighty choppers.
In the end, only one will end up with $10,000
and bragging rights for their country.
Earlier, all of us got a chance to cheer our competitors on,
and they are pumped up and ready to take on the Beast.
Come on! Yes!
I'm excited. It's a giant video game!
- I'm in Super Mario Brothers. - It's very cool, right?
- It's Super Mario Brothers. - It's Super Hyper Ultra Mario Brothers.
USA! USA! USA!
- Whoo! - Whoa!
I think we should introduce the first competitor.
I'm with you. Let's go!
Kicking off tonight's competition is
Shoji Nakayama from Tokyo, Japan.
He's a professional bodybuilder... Oh, and a professional comedian.
My name is Shoji Nakayama.
I'm 37, from Fukuoka Prefecture.
The Japanese revere samurai as heroes.
I add "muscle" to that, calling myself Muscle Samurai.
As a participant representing Japan,
I'm hoping to bring Muscle Samurai into the global limelight.
At the end of this Ultimate Beastmaster,
surely only I shall remain.
Power!
Have you checked out his hairdo?
I was just told that his hairstyle just cost $2,000.
- That is ridiculous! - Yeah...
$2,000? That costs more than my weave.
- I don't know! - Unbelievable.
Well, I'm envious of anyone with a head of hair.
That hair is all part of his persona as a samurai.
Of course. If you're gonna battle the Beast,
you're gonna need to call in one of the most elite warriors in the world.
Now, Terry, as you know, samurais were known
for being very good with strategy,
so let's see what he does as he approaches the first Point Thruster opportunity.
Nope. This is a game of cumulative points,
and you're gonna need every point you can get.
That must've been his comedian side that didn't want to attempt it.
Exactly. The samurai side would've gone for it.
He doesn't want to face plant into the Beast blood
with $2,000 worth of hair.
You don't want to put any Beast blood on that hairdo.
No, you do not!
Here we go, and he's got it.
- Nice! - All right!
- Can he hold on? - There, he's got it!
- Looking strong! - Come on, Muscle Sam!
- There he is. - Well done!
There he is.
Oh, great technique.
He's eyeing that Point Thruster.
He's eyeing the Point Thruster. He's gonna go for it.
He's going for the Thruster...
Oh!
Oh no! What happened? He couldn't make it!
The hair is gone!
- He lost his wig! - Oh, he lost his wig!
What is happening?
- No! No! - He lost his hairpiece!
That's $2,000 down the blood drain.
Oh, he just did not...
Missed it by a hair.
By a hair!
For a samurai, losing this hair amounts to ritual suicide.
It is a samurai's life.
"Shoji the money"... Or the hair, in this case.
Is he putting that back on his head?
- He put it back. Yeah! - Shoji!
With the competition underway,
let's quickly meet our two competitors representing the USA.
Our first competitor is Ed Moses from Hollywood, California.
The former swimmer arrives with the tenacity and speed
that enabled him to shatter world records and win an Olympic gold medal.
I'm here to conquer this competition
and conquer the Beast.
My mentality coming into the Ultimate Beastmaster
is identical to going into the Olympics.
I 100% believe that I can win this competition.
If I can label myself as the Ultimate Beastmaster,
that might go right under the Olympic gold medalist.
Goal is to walk away the champ.
In the Midwest, we have Hanah Jamroz from Cedar Lake, Indiana.
This tough-as-nails CrossFitter and former body builder
believes her combination of strength and agility
will allow her to hang with the big boys.
I have two older brothers, so I was definitely the little baby sister
that got picked on all the time.
I am not scared to go against any men or women
who are twice my size.
I am strong, very strong.
I am very quick.
I'm an all-around athlete.
I want to win this competition so badly,
I will do whatever it takes to win it.
Ed Moses and Hanah Jamroz.
This combination of youth and experience should give the Beast all it can handle
as the competitors vie for the title of Ultimate Beastmaster.
Our American competitors are gonna have their hands full,
because conquering the Beast, well, it's not easy,
as these next four competitors learned in the qualifying round.
First up, Jinbong Lee from South Korea,
who's no stranger to high-pressure situations.
I served in Special Forces for four years, safe and sound.
I've learned a lot. And I'll do my best.
No regrets. Go Korea!
Jinbong Lee was looking strong early on...
but his attempt at the second Point Thruster
brought his run to a bloody end.
Aah!
Next up was Jacobo Luchtan,
an extreme sports enthusiast from Mexico
who proved to be a tough competitor after taking a hard hit on Faceplant.
- Yeah! - He made it!
But on his attempt at the second Point Thruster,
the Beast proved to be tougher.
Yeah! Go, Mexico!
Next up was Yoshifumi Fujita from Japan,
and he wanted to show the Beast his strongman pedigree.
But after a weak first jump on the Energy Coils...
the Beast was unimpressed...
and Yoshi's strength gave out.
Ah! But now he's fallen!
Then it was time for Hanah Jamroz,
a personal trainer from Indiana,
to sink her teeth into the Beast.
And it looked like Hanah was going to take a bite out of this course.
But on her jump to the third Energy Coil...
the Beast bit back.
I think my tooth's a little wiggly,
but I think I'll be fine.
Getting back to the action, Johannes Gmelin of Brazil
is already on the course with 20 points.
Thirty-three years old from São Paolo, Brazil.
Johannes owns two CrossFit gyms, and also has a brown belt in jujitsu.
He's eyeing that Point Thruster. Do you see that?
He's taking a look. I think he's gonna try it.
I think he's gonna try it.
He's testing out how strong it is.
He's gotta get a grip, and he can go for it.
If you want to do it, remember, you're 25 feet in the air.
He's a little nervous.
Now, you have gotta not only keep your balance,
you then have to pull yourself up on a coil and kick up that...
He got it!
He did it! The Brazilian did it.
Nice work. You can tell this guy's been an athlete his entire life.
This guy is a monster.
He reminds me of the Hulk.
He reminds me of you.
- He is serious, and he is focused. - Look at his face.
This is what you see in the eyes of a champion right now,
and if he gets elevation, he's gonna have no problem with this.
- He's up and... Good elevation! - There we go.
Over!
Wow!
Very good.
He looks like he could hurt somebody,
but he's been putting the hurt on Level 1 so far.
He's aiming for that Point Thruster. He's already gotten one.
Is he gonna get this one, too?
Oh, my goodness. And he's right there by the Energy...
Look at that. He has hit two Point Thrusters.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is...
Go, go, go, go...
No! But that's okay.
And with that strong run,
No comments yet. Be the first to leave one.
