After several years

of tension relations between China and the United States

are at a notable impasse over

the ongoing issues with Taiwan.

New incidents

near an island in the Taiwan Strait,

involving the Taiwanese and

Chinese Coast Guard this week,

have only served to increase tension--

These incidents

are occurring at a sensitive time

with Taiwan's recent election

and its upcoming

inauguration of its new president.

One of these incidents

yesterday involved the Chinese Coast Guard

actually boarding a Taiwanese tourism charter.

that negotiations have in fact broken down

between the United States and China

over the ongoing issues with Taiwan.

The president has called an

emergency council of Congress

and is warning that a global conflict

US Speaker Janice Polanski

visited Taiwan, Beijing has retaliated

against the United States,

refusing dialogue on multiple issues.

We are getting reports that the borders

of both China and Taiwan have been closed

and a military standoff is in place.

China is moving forward

with targeting Washington

by cutting off talks militarily

with regional commanders

and defense policymakers,

as well as canceling meetings

to discuss military operations.

US officials worry that this

could lead to misperceptions.

Recent supply shortages

with chip manufacturer, Taiwan Semiconductor

have slowed the entire tech sector,

and experts are warning

that recent US backed tariffs

have done little more

than inflame the situation.

In central Pennsylvania,

supplies continue to dwindle down,

leaving grocery stores empty

and sending consumers in a panic.

The shortages appear to be affecting

larger grocery retailers.

The sudden need

to prepare for an undefined global conflict

has stores rushing and

expediting activities to replenish.

Many of the stores are now limiting

the number of high demand

items that customers can buy.

And with the news of the global crisis,
